Stringy white mucus in eye is a type of eye mucus that forms at the corner of the eye while sleeping. Most times, when we wake up and try to open our eye, we discover that our eyelids are glued shut and we probably remove it using our fingers.

Glands of the eye produces materials that sticks together at the corner of the eye.

Causes Of Stringy White Mucus In Eye

Cornea is a clear membrane that covers the iris and the pupils. In most severe cases of infection, allergies or dry eye, you may develop a corner ulcer.

4. Block Tear Duct

This occurs mostly in newborns and infants than adults. It happens as a result of infection, a tumor , eye trauma and it may lead to blurry vision and eye mucus.

People who wear contact lenses notice more eye mucus and that is due to dry eyes, infection, rubbing of your eye or regular blinking of your eye while wearing contacts.
